Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Vice President (Wapres) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Gatot Prio Utomo made a working visit to the Public Service Mall (MPP) Medeka, Malang City, Friday (1/9/2023). During the visit, a discussion was held regarding the implementation of public services at the Merdeka MPP.

The Vice President's Special Staff Gatot Prio Utomo revealed that the government continues to modernize public services through digitalization, including in the Merdeka MPP of Malang City which is one of the pilot projects of 21 cities in Indonesia. "Malang City has very strong digital literacy, because this city has many universities. Malang City has great potential to become a pilot for digital MPP," said Gatot.
Not only digital in the quality of its applications, according to him, also the coverage or reach of services to the community as a whole.
Through the digital MPP program launched by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin two months ago, the government is taking a serious approach, namely in increasing public satisfaction with public services. "In this case, population services are the main thing implemented in the digital MPP," said Gatot.
After population services, the next is health services. The hope is that in the future population services to health services can be integrated in one hand.
The digital MPP program will also focus on the integration of government to citizen services including the issuance of driving licenses, passports and various other vital services aimed at increasing speed, ease and predictability in government services.
Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, said that efforts to accelerate the transformation of MPP Merdeka into a digital MPP continue to be carried out. The purpose of this digital MPP is to integrate various public services into one efficient one. "We are optimistic that next year most of the programs can be implemented and create synergy between the digital and physical versions in public services," said Erik.
Erik admitted that there are still several challenges that need to be overcome, one of which is related to the public's understanding of MPP Merdeka which needs to be improved. "We want to change the public's mindset that MPP Merdeka is not Mal Ramayana," said Erik. (cah/yon)
