Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Padhang mBulan Festival is one of Malang City's steps to instill and strengthen cultural values from an early age for the nation's next generation. The annual festival was held again in the Kayutangan Heritage Village area, Saturday night (9/9/2023).

This year's event is different from previous events, because various performances such as pencak silat, bantengan and educational games are mostly presented by students, so that various traditional arts are not eroded by the progress of the times and the younger generation loves the nation's arts and culture more.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji when opening the event revealed that efforts to strengthen arts and culture will also suppress the entry of negative influences on children in the era of technology, such as through gadgets.
"In this case, foreign cultures that are less educational are very easily accessible to children through the internet. And it is undeniable that children today seem unable to be separated from their smartphones even for a moment," explained the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Mayor Sutiaji said that the future of this nation is in the hands of the current generation, so if children's morals are not good, it will have fatal consequences. "Protecting children from various negative impacts is a shared responsibility. Let's be wise parents to our children," he said.
Loving the nation's culture, he emphasized, is part of nationalism. Forming a child's character is indeed not easy and requires struggle. "This festival is also proof that the state is present to help society in giving birth to a brilliant future generation of the nation," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
