Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Various interesting attractions were displayed by residents of Cemorokandang Village in the carnival to commemorate the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, starting from the romusa theatrical, ogoh-ogoh parade, to Bantengan art, Sunday (10/9/2023).

It is no wonder that the excitement of this carnival makes people flock to the streets along the parade that starts in Cemorokandang Village. This carnival is not only entertainment for the community, but also a blessing for traders who sell their wares along the streets passed by carnival participants.
Cemorokandang Village Head, Achmad Ridwan, said that this carnival is a form of gratitude from the community for the blessing of independence. "We are pleased with the extraordinary enthusiasm of the residents in this carnival. Hopefully it can entertain the community and bring happiness to all of us," said Ridwan, Sunday (10/9/2023).
One of the residents of Cemorokandang Village, Anton Tri Hartono said that there has been no carnival in Cemorokandang for three years because of the pandemic that hit. "Hopefully there will be no more Covid-19 so that people can still freely do activities including celebrating independence like today," said Anton.
Of the many carnival participants who appeared, Anton admitted that he was interested in the carnival participants' performance with the theme of romusha work. He said that from the performance, the nuances of the colonial era were very apparent. "Alhamdulillah, now the Indonesian nation is independent," said Anton. (cah/yon)
