Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – A public discussion labeled national politics was held by the Ngalam Media Center community at a cafe in Malang City, Tuesday (12/9/2023). From this political education, it is targeted to embrace and accommodate young people, especially new voters in the Simultaneous Election in February 2024.
One of the discussion speakers who is also a member of the Malang City DPRD, Ahmad Fuad Rahman, said that millennials also determine the success of the democratic party, so they must use their voting rights well.
Fuad advised not to look down on politics or as bad, because basically politics provides many lessons and experiences. "There are many positive sides to politics, and it all depends on what kind of perspective we want to view politics from," he explained.
Young people must be critical so that later they will be elected as national leaders who meet the people's expectations. "We need political education and we also need to increase literacy for this Gen Z. "So I invite politicians, the government and the public, let's be politically literate by accessing as much information as possible that politics is for the good," he added.
Given the importance of making the democratic party a success, discussions like this will continue to be initiated. That way it will help reduce the number of golput or citizens who do not use their voting rights, especially among the young people.
Regarding the world of politics, according to Azizah Mukti as a representative of the youth, she admitted that she is not allergic to politics with the note that the candidate's program must be realistic and sustainable. "In addition, these politicians should not appear only once every five years, namely when there will be an election," she said.
The woman in hijab added, if the politicians want to gain popularity so they can be considered 'cool' for our generation. "In fact, something cool for us is not like that. Cool for us is cool and also sustainable," concluded Azizah. (say/yon)
