Through Cekat E-JKN Innovation, Malang City Awarded the 2023 APDI Award

Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) is committed to ensuring the health of all residents. To realize this, the Malang City Government in collaboration with the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) Health presents the e-JKN Cekat (Fast, Effective, and Accurate) application which was launched by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji in August 2022.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji received the 2023 Indonesian Regional Government Appreciation Award (APDI) B-Universe

For this effort and commitment, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, was awarded an appreciation for the National Health Insurance Electronic initiative in the Integrated Digital Transformation category which was received at the 2023 Indonesian Regional Government Appreciation Award Night (APDI) B-Universe, in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9/2023)

"Alhamdulillah, until now, around eleven thousand residents have registered as BPJS Kesehatan participants through e-JKN Cekat. Of course, this supports the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program in Malang City which has reached 107,68 percent," explained Mayor Sutiaji.

He further stated that through this system, people with Malang City ID cards who do not yet have health insurance will be registered as BPJS Kesehatan participants in the Non-Wage Recipient Workers and Non-Workers registered by the Regional Government (PBPU BP Pemda) Class III segment at health facilities or health centers in Malang City.

"The target is residents with Malang City ID cards who are not yet registered in the active National Health Insurance program, especially the underprivileged community. So that our residents who are less fortunate in terms of health and finances can be helped. We make it easier with this e-JKN Cekat so that the process is faster too," he explained.

As the name E-JKN Cekat implies, the process is easy. Residents only need to bring a family card (KK) and a letter of termination of employment for the Non-Worker (BP) segment and bring a birth certificate, mother's KTP/KK and mother's KIS for the newborn segment to the village office. Furthermore, village officials and related agencies will carry out the next process. Residents only need to wait for active membership which can be checked via the JKN Mobile application.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, who was present in person at the 2023 APDI award night, assessed that this award could increase competition between regions to advance and innovate in order to advance their regions.
