Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – To build food security by utilizing limited land in urban areas, the Malang City Food Security and Agriculture Service (Dispangtan) held a Freshwater Fish Cultivation Training (Fish Cultivation in Buckets/Budikdamber) and Infrastructure Facilities in the Klojen District hall, Tuesday (12/9/2023) to Thursday (14/9/2023).
Secretary of Commission B of the Malang City DPRD Arief Wahyudi, SH revealed that the activity in Klojen was part of the Malang City DPRD's Main Thoughts (Pokir) program. He said that the Malang City DPRD partnered with the Dispangtan to help the community improve family nutrition. "Together with the Dispangtan, we deliberately held training as well as providing Budikdamber facilities and infrastructure," explained Arief, Wednesday (13/9/2023).
Arief said that the Klojen community was given this Budikdamber training to overcome the limited land in the Klojen area so that it could remain productive. He explained that by simply using a bucket, the community could harvest catfish, vegetables which are certainly good for improving family nutrition. "There were 220 participants in this training, 70 percent of whom were members of the dasawisma in the Klojen District of Malang City," explained Arief.
In order for the training to be well absorbed, in addition to training, this activity also provides equipment and catfish seeds. His party also prepared a competition to stimulate participants to seriously apply the knowledge gained from the Budikdamber training. "Dasawisma who are able to raise catfish well will be given a reward, what form of reward is just waiting," said Arief.
"We are confident that with our assistance and also from the Malang City Agriculture and Food Security Agency, participants will be able to cultivate fish well, because the infrastructure has been provided, as well as fish feed and education and counseling on catfish care techniques in buckets," added Arief.
From this activity, Arief hopes that the dasa wisma in Klojen will have positive activities in addition to getting nutrition from the cultivation carried out. He said that his party will continue to monitor every two weeks in addition to counseling carried out by the Malang City Dispangtan. (cah/yon)
