Mayor Sutiaji Inaugurates the Secretariat of the IAI of Malang City

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji inaugurated the Secretariat Building of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) of Malang City, Friday (15/9/2023). Not only an office, this building is also home to around 500 pharmacists who are members of the IAI of Malang City.

The person in charge of the realization of the construction of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association of Malang City, Apt. Dra. Arofa Idha, M.Farm-Klin said that the IAI secretariat building was built on land owned by the Malang City Government located on Jalan WR Supratman, Klojen District, Malang City.

"Thank you to the Malang City Government for allowing us to rent this land to be used as a secretariat office. This is a blessing for us, because since the establishment of IAI, the secretariat office has always moved, nomadic following its chairman," he said.

Meanwhile, in his speech, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, said that with the existence of this building, it is hoped that it can strengthen the existence and role of pharmacists in efforts to improve the health of the people of Malang City.

"On behalf of the Malang City Government, we give our appreciation and express our gratitude. I have previously said that IAI must be stronger, greater, have a strong identity and existence. Marked by the symbol of this secretariat office," he said.

Regarding the use of government land for the secretariat office, Sutiaji provided ease of use of assets if they are used for activities that are beneficial to the community. "Utilize the land owned by the (Malang) City Government. In principle, we continue to optimize city government assets for the benefit of the community," he continued.

Sutiaji said that the role of pharmacists is very much needed to improve public health literacy, including related to medicines. He said that pharmacists as competent parties related to pharmacy are an important part of this effort.

"Now there is a lot of drug abuse, so we need to mitigate it together. Please provide literacy to the community. Work with us, related regional apparatus such as the Health Office, Dispangtan, and Diskopindag. Four points that are a must for us are strengthening literacy which is a promotive step, then preventive, curative, and rehabilitative. Of course our shared orientation is for our community to be healthy," he concluded. (ari/yon)
