Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Malang City held a joint assembly in the framework of the 78th anniversary of PMI at the PMI Headquarters of Malang City, Jalan Buring, Malang City, Sunday (17/9/2023). On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, was also present and also became the instructor of the joint assembly.
Malang Mayor Sutiaji said that PMI is a place where devotion and preaching to serve the community can be done together. "Hopefully what we are doing now is a form of gratitude for the blessings given by Allah SWT," explained Sutiaji on Sunday (17/9/2023).
Sutiaji hopes that the steps taken now and in the future will always be within the framework of protection from Almighty God. "As humans, living in this world there are those who live for themselves and those who live for other humans. Therefore, human values must be upheld without regard to differences, be it ethnicity, race, or religion," added Sutiaji.
He added, if we are aware of the values of humanity, then when fellow human beings need help, we will be called to help. "Especially for those of us who have the health, authority, and ability to help others, we are given the opportunity by God to help our fellow human beings," said Sutiaji.
The Mayor of Malang advised that the values of humanity in all people should come from volunteerism. The main principle is volunteerism, that this is a need, not an obligation, so that when doing the action, it will never be a burden.
In the celebration of the 78th anniversary of PMI, PMI Malang City also gave an honorary award to the Mayor of Malang as an honorary member of PMI. In addition, this activity was also filled with the presentation of prizes for exemplary employees of PMI Malang City, the distribution of prizes from various competitions, and the launch of the PMI Malang City website.
