Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Meatballs have become a culinary icon typical of Malang City that has been widely known. At the event titled Pesta Rakyat Rutam Nuwus Kera Ngalam which was held along Jalan Gajahmada, Thursday (21/9/2023), 10.000 free meatballs were distributed to the public.
The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, who was present and opened the event, said that bakso is a typical food of Malang City. "There is a saying that you haven't been to Malang if you haven't eaten bakso, and you haven't eaten bakso if you haven't eaten bakso Malang. Hopefully this will be a trigger, that Malang is already famous for bakso. The tagline is already known nationally and I think it is already worldwide," said the bespectacled man.
There are 60 meatball traders participating in the people's party which will take place from September 21 to September 22, 2023. Through this event, MSMEs as one of the economic pillars of Malang City can progress and prosper.
"This is in order for us to share, from the community enjoyed by the community. Hopefully this will continue to grow. On behalf of the Malang City Government, we would like to express our gratitude, the community participation is extraordinary," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
Malang Mayor Sutiaji also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all elements involved, especially to meatball traders who are part of the effort to strengthen MSMEs.
"Indeed, meatballs are a legend for Malang. And of course when our meatballs are packaged attractively, safe to consume, and the taste is increasingly varied, then this network needs to be done. Because there are also many requests from outside, such as requests for ready-to-eat meatballs. Malang is great, so collaboration is needed," he concluded. (yul/yon)
