Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The gathering of the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, with journalists assigned to the Malang City Government (Pemkot), Wednesday night (20/9/2023) was lively. The event, which was held in the yard of the Malang Mayor's Official Residence, was held to welcome the end of the bespectacled man's term of office on September 24, 2023.
Mayor Sutiaji said that the role and contribution of the media during his leadership was very large. Not only supporting and realizing development programs, various achievements achieved by the Malang City Government were also thanks to the contribution of journalists. Such as the Kayutangan Heritage Village which is currently in the top five of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) and the presence of thematic villages that attract the attention of tourists.
"So far, media coverage has provided a lot of education and literacy to the public, so that what is the development program is conveyed well to the people. The function of the media is like that, if the news is only to divide and conquer, then it is not a real media," said Sutiaji.
The number one person in the Malang City Government on this occasion expressed his gratitude and apologized if during the past five years there were any mistakes or communications that were not as expected. "Although I will no longer be the Mayor of Malang, I am always open and will not change, so that the relationship continues to run well," he added.
One of the media crews present, Bagus Suryo from Media Indonesia, said that Mayor Sutiaji's communication with journalists was very good and that Malang City had achieved many achievements. "We were also greatly assisted by the heads of regional apparatus when we needed data and information," he said after handing over the memoir book to Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, one of the senior journalists, Khoirul Anam also gave positive appreciation for the performance of Mayor Sutiaji and Deputy Mayor of Malang Sofyan Edi Jarwoko so far. "I apologize if during the interview I needed detailed data, because all of that was solely for media coverage. And I am grateful that what I asked was always answered well," explained the Bisnis Indonesia journalist.
Not much different from the two journalists, one of the female journalists, Sisca Angelia, also gave a positive note. At this moment, the Malang Posco Media journalist also admitted that she was amazed by the figure of Mayor Sutiaji. "I once wrote a rather controversial news about Malang City.
