Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji and Deputy Mayor Ir. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko said goodbye on their last day at the Malang City Hall, Friday (22/9/2023). The hot sun did not deter hundreds of ASN in the Malang City Hall area from saying goodbye and thanking the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for their five years of service to the City of Malang.
In his farewell speech, Malang Mayor Sutiaji said that since September 24, 2018, he and Malang Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi have officially worked to realize the vision of Malang as a Dignified City. "We walk together with full confidence and rely on God Almighty. The Red and White Flag and Malang Kucecwara "What we are proud of, we have stepped on it. An extraordinary mandate to be able to lead the city of Malang," said the Mayor of Malang who is familiarly called Sam Aji.
At this moment, Sam Aji also expressed his gratitude to the ASN and the people of Malang City who have accompanied and synergized to realize the vision. "I thank all ASN and residents of Malang City, so many situations and moments that we have gone through so far and we can get through. Thank you for accompanying me. Your collaboration and support are everything. We say a thousand thanks. Positions certainly have their time, but the brotherhood between us has no limits. We apologize, I resign. You are all great people," he said with tears in his eyes.
Sutiaji advised all ASN to continue to keep Malang City glorious. "We both entrust Malang City, Malang Kucecwara"We must always maintain the Bumi Arema that we love, keep it strong, and be full of achievements," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Malang Deputy Mayor Sofyan Edi Jarwoko expressed his happiness for the opportunity he got to serve Malang City. "Alhamdulillah, I can end a five-year commitment. I am happy for the opportunity given to us by the community. Of course, it is far from perfect," he said.
The man who is familiarly called Bung Edi said that he learned a lot from the ASN and employees. "I have learned a lot from all the staff, starting from the cleaners and gardeners, the officers who prepare drinks, and all the staff. The sincerity of my fellow ASN in their service is exemplary. Thank you for this opportunity. I apologize from the bottom of my heart if there are any attitudes, words, and behaviors that are wrong and unpleasant. Please pray that we are blessed, always given health. God willing, seduluran sak lawase (brotherhood forever)," he concluded.
After delivering their farewell speech, Sutiaji-Sofyan Edi accompanied by Widayati Sutiaji and Ely Sofyan Edi walked towards the gate while shaking hands one by one with the ASN who were lined up to see them off from Malang City Hall. Tears could not be held back, an emotional atmosphere enveloped Malang City Hall until finally the Mayor and Deputy Mayor pair got into their respective private cars.
It turns out, it was not only the ASN who released Sutiaji-Sofyan Edi to end their term of office. Along the route to their respective official residences, thousands of students and the people of Malang City were seen saying goodbye. (ari/yon)
