Great Malang: Five Years of Service and Development, Sutiaji-Sofyan Edi Say Goodbye

"Thank you all for accompanying us, for your support and encouragement. We apologize profusely if there are still shortcomings in serving," said Sutiaji to all residents present in the Alun-Alun Tugu area of ​​Malang City.

On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Malang, conveyed the achievements obtained by the City of Malang over the past five years.

First, various bureaucratic reform steps have been taken by the Malang City Government to realize good governance with an apparatus with high integrity, productivity, and excellent service in order to increase public trust.

“Yesterday on September 17, 2023, we gathered all ASN. Thank you to all ASN. Originally, there were 34 agencies, we streamlined them to 28. In three years, effectiveness and efficiency reached Rp210 billion. We continue to strengthen this. I and the Deputy Mayor, slowly but surely we work together. Slowly but surely we move,” he explained,

He said that in 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic hit, but because of the totality of Malang residents who wanted to rise, thank God it could be overcome. The resilience that was strengthened by the Salam Satu Jiwa Arek-Arek Malang all rose. The economy of Malang City grew significantly from -2,26% in 2020 during the pandemic to 4,21% in 2021.

"Then in 2022, the economy of Malang City grew very impressively, reaching 6,32 percent. This figure even exceeds the growth before the pandemic and is the highest record in the last decade, thank God. Then Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is our commitment that all people of Malang City must be covered and have access to quality and effective promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services," said Sutiaji, which was greeted with applause from the residents present.

The commitment is continuously strengthened, various programs in the last five years include scholarships, market revitalization, infrastructure development, other basic services for all citizens, harmonious and tolerant cities based on diversity and support for vulnerable communities and gender and others.

"I have a message for my fellow ASN, let's strengthen it. We entrust Malang City to always be maintained, remain strong and full of achievements. Thank you and apologize, hopefully Malang City will remain a conducive city and contribute to a healthy, peaceful and peaceful development ecosystem," he said.
