Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Hundreds of bicycle enthusiasts took part in the cycling together with the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji and the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP Widayati Sutiaji, which started at the Malang City Hall, Sunday (24/9/2023). The activity entitled Farewell The Mayor of Malang City was a form of farewell for Sutiaji who ended his duties as Mayor of Malang.

The activity initiated by the GCR (Go Cycling & Racing) Community was attended by various cycling communities throughout Malang Raya. GCR every year has several collaboration agendas with several cycling communities in Malang City.
"This is a cyclist collaboration event as well as a farewell ride with Mr. Sutiaji by various bicycle communities. GCR has an annual collaboration agenda with several bicycle communities in Malang City. This is an effort to campaign for cycling for health and as an environmentally friendly transportation," said GCR Community Advisor, Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT.
In this cycling trip, the distance traveled by the cyclists was around 34 km. Starting from Malang City Hall, the group pedaled their bikes towards Arjosari, then passed Karang Ploso towards Pendem and then to Sengkaling. The route continued past Dinoyo towards Jalan Galunggung, and finished at the Kajoetangan Heritage Area.
"We also held this cycling event as part of sport tourism. That's why we finished at Kayutangan Heritage as one of the new and iconic tourist destinations in Malang City," he continued.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, who is also a cycling enthusiast, expressed his gratitude to the various communities in Malang City, including various cycling enthusiast communities.
"Thank you for accompanying us on our journey to fulfill our mandate to build Malang City. Thank you for the collaboration of various initiatives given to Malang City, especially for holding various cycling events that can strengthen sports tourism in Malang City. From the deepest heart, we also apologize if there are still many shortcomings while devoting ourselves to our beloved city," said Sutiaji. (ari/yon)
