Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Starting from the desire to help fish farmers get cheap but quality fish feed, Arif Agus Setijono was finally able to make it happen. Utilizing organic waste that is usually thrown away and unused, this Tlogomas resident is now a mainstay supplier of fish feed for fish farmers.
Arif Agus Setijono said that he initially wanted to make fish feed after seeing many fish farmers fail to make a profit because of the expensive price of fish feed and the plummeting selling price of fish. That's why he then conducted research and created a good formula for economically priced fish feed.
"There are three types of fish feed that we have developed, feed for the starter period, for rearing and for broodstock," explained Arif, Tuesday (26/9/2023).
Arif added that the feed he produces has a protein content of 28 percent, and has been used for catfish, tilapia and the like. Currently, the feed has been sold to fish farmers in various regions in Java. "In addition to Malang Raya, our product feed is widely used in various other regions, such as Banyuwangi, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan," said Arif.
Agus' current feed production scale is 4-5 tons per month, with the price per kilogram being sold at between Rp8.000 and Rp8.500. "So far, the users of our fish feed products are mostly from our own circles who sell them through friends. In the future, we will continue to improve it," explained Arif.
Arif admitted that he was proud to be able to produce quality fish feed at an affordable price. This is none other than being able to utilize waste into a work that has value.
Arif said that his party uses household waste, hotels, restaurants as raw materials for its feed. After successfully making fish feed, Arif admitted that he is currently also starting to pioneer a catfish breeding business. This is done to help many catfish farmers who have difficulty getting a supply of quality catfish seeds amidst high market demand. (cah/yon)
