Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – SMP Negeri 6 Malang City is implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (5P) program which is a new way to instill Pancasila values in students. One of the steps taken is to educate students about the environment by presenting environmental activists from the Eltari M-230 Waste Bank, Tuesday (3/10/2023).

Two speakers who were presented were the Head of Bank Sampah Eltari M-230 Efrida Hartini and Yusup Karyawan. Efrida Hartini expressed her happiness with the enthusiasm of SMAN 6 Malang City students with this environmental education activity. In this school, she said that her students already have a good awareness in maintaining and preserving the environment.
"Each class at SMAN 6 Malang City can now sort their own waste, collect it, sell it, and then use the money for the class fund. This is certainly encouraging," said Efrida, Tuesday (3/10/2023).
He added, through OSIS, in-depth study related to waste banks on environmental management that can bring benefits can be obtained. "In addition to waste, SMAN 6 also has great potential, namely family medicinal plants (Toga)," said Efrida.
According to information, in the past, toga cultivation had been pioneered at SMAN 6, but then it was inactive. According to her, it would be better if this toga cultivation activity was revived because more knowledge could be obtained by students. "They can read the potential in the surrounding environment, be more creative, and when they return home they can provide an example," Efrida hopes.
On this occasion, students were also educated about processing organic waste into organic fertilizer. By having sufficient provisions and experience, it is hoped that these students will be more independent. (cah/yon)
