Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to strengthen cooperation and synergy with the Malang City Government (Pemko), the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Malang Raya held an audience with the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM, Thursday (5/10/2023). 15 PWI Malang Raya administrators were received in the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room. Also present at the audience were the Head of the Communication and Informatics Service (Kominfo) M. Nur Widianto and the Head of the Prokompim Section of the Malang City Secretariat, Muhammad Fakhrurizal Hariez.
In his speech, the Acting Mayor of Malang said that his party appreciated the steps taken by the media crew. According to him, the role of PWI Malang Raya has played a major role in realizing various programs and achievements achieved by the Malang City Government so far. "Without news coverage, what we program will not be known to the public," he said.
"So far, the role of PWI Malang Raya has been very good. Such as hosting the National Journalist Sports Week (Porwanas) last year, often holding national-level Journalist Competency Tests (UKW) and publishing a number of achievements of Malang City," added Wahyu.
The Acting Mayor of Malang invited the PWI Malang Raya and media crews in general to continue to be partners of the Malang City Government and build better communication. "So far, we have had almost no barriers with media crews from mutual cooperation. This is a good precedent and must continue to be strengthened in the future," continued Wahyu.
The statement was agreed by the Head of PWI Malang Raya, Cahyono. According to him, if there is good communication between journalists and government officials, it will produce something positive. "Journalists are not enemies to anyone. Therefore, make journalists as partners to establish good relations," he explained.
On this occasion, the senior journalist also conveyed the plan to hold another national-scale UKW on November 17-19, 2023 at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Building. "In this event, we are collaborating with the Malang City Government which is also a form of synergy between the Malang Raya PWI. From this UKW, we automatically help promote the existence of MCC to the public," he said.
This plan also received support from the Acting Mayor of Malang. Because, when the man who previously served as the Regional Secretary of Malang Regency was inaugurated as the Acting Mayor of Malang, one of the mandates from the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa was to optimize the existence of MCC.
