Regarding this matter, the Head of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Service (Disporapar) of Malang City, Baihaqi, said that the budget was still a temporary calculation in the Draft Budget (RAB).
"We still can't confirm, but this is from the temporary RAB that has been submitted by the Acting Mayor of Malang for the improvement of infrastructure and efforts to improve performance. The temporary calculation is around Rp50 billion," he explained.
The budget, said Baihaqi, will be prepared for sports facilities and infrastructure that still need to be improved and repaired. "The effort will be optimized and of course must get approval from the Malang City DPRD," he added.
"We will maximize the budget allocation in the 2024 APBD. Hopefully there will also be good synergy with the East Java Provincial Government and the Central Government so as not to burden the Malang City APBD too much," explained Baihaqi.
"In addition, preparations for each sport will also continue to be maximized, so that it is hoped that they can achieve even better achievements," he said.
He further said that several sports will be evaluated from the implementation of the Sidoarjo Porprov this year. For example, individual sports will be maximized because the collection of medals from individuals is quite a lot.
"However, we will not ignore the team sports that will also be intensively coached. Once we can target the individual sports, I think the increase in medals will be significant," concluded Baihaqi. (say/yon)
