Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As is known, since a few days ago the revitalization process of Alun-Alun Tugu has been completed and has been opened to the public. Along with that, the traffic flow in the area in front of Malang City Hall is very high every day and requires various anticipations.
It seems like the installation of warning signs and crossings or zebra crossings so that every vehicle passing by does not drive at high speeds that can trigger traffic accidents. These accidents can be between vehicles or single accidents, because in Alun-Alun Tugu and Balai Kota Malang there are no longer any guardrails.
Head of the Environmental Service (DLH) of Malang City, Noer Rahman Wijaya when confirmed, Thursday (12/10/2023) said that his party had coordinated with the Transportation Service (Dishub). To realize all of that, especially in relation to the budget, Rahman admitted that he would still coordinate further.
"For the budgeting is already available in the Transportation Agency or not based on the regulations of the Minister of Transportation, of course there will be a follow-up coordination meeting related to this matter. However, we have conveyed to the Transportation Agency for traffic management in the Alun-Alun Tugu area to really reduce the speed, in order to reduce the risk of accidents like the one that happened some time ago," he explained.
Rahman further appealed to the public to be careful when passing through the Malang City Hall area. Moreover, the Tugu Square has just been completed, so it must be maintained together. "After the end of the work contract period, it is currently entering the maintenance period, so this is a shared responsibility," he explained. (say/yon)
