Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The PKK Team of Malang City is a government partner to work together to advance the quality of life of the community. Not only family matters, PKK is also expected to be active and move to become a driver of economic empowerment, starting from the household level.
In relation to this, TP PKK Malang City is trying to motivate the cadres to be more empowered. On the initiative of the Acting Chairperson of TP PKK Malang City Hanik A. Wahyu Hidayat, the cadres received reinforcement for their role in improving the economic level of the community in an activity entitled Rhythm of Empowerment (ROE) at the Malang Creative Center (MCC), Wednesday (18/10/2023).
Through this activity, it is expected that PKK cadres can develop and improve their potential, self-quality, and self-motivation so that they can later run programs that have contributions and concerns for Malang City's MSMEs. "TP PKK can contribute positively to strengthening the creative economy in Malang City," said Hanik.
The Acting Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP also hopes for synergy from various parties, especially under the auspices of the PKK, so that they can continue to contribute to the development of the creative economy. Currently, he said that his party is focusing on developing Malang City's typical batik crafts. In the future, every other creative economy potential in Malang City will also continue to be developed.
"In the future, I want PKK in each sub-district and village to be able to contribute, there are programs carried out for the progress of Dekranasda and UMKM. This time I want to raise the potential of its batik. Malangan batik can excel with its unique motifs, such as lotus motifs, the Malang Monument, rain trees, Malang masks too," explained the woman who also serves as the Acting Chair of the Malang City Dekranasda.
At the event attended by the wives of the Malang City Forkopimda ranks, it received appreciation from the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM. According to him, women also play a role in supporting the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which are now the mainstay of the Indonesian economy.
"These mothers have an important role in improving the creative economy. This was gathered by Mrs. Pj Chairwoman of TP PKK from all levels. Having one goal, having one interest, together improving the economy, especially empowering the UMKM space in Malang City," explained Wahyu when met after the activity.
The Acting Mayor of Malang is optimistic that the role of the PKK in Malang City in driving the creative economy through empowering MSMEs will continue to grow. There are many things that the PKK can do to support it. "Mothers can mobilize families in their respective areas to start businesses. Provide socialization and assistance. No less important is encouraging the use of digital channels, social media, and also e-commerce," he said.
Wahyu said that the development of the creative economy in Malang City is also a highlight of the Governor of East Java. Therefore, Governor Khofifah gave a mandate to oversee the success of the creative economy in Malang City. "As the Acting Mayor of Malang, I was given a mandate by the Governor of East Java to oversee the creative economy in Malang City. And Malang City has a wealth of businesses generated by the community. Thousands of micro businesses from businesses in the food and beverage, craft and fashion sectors exist," he concluded.
