No exception in the era of information technology advancement like today, the media must be a balancer and even a reference for the public to get correct and balanced information. That way the public can avoid hoaxes or fake news and get comprehensive information.
Several things were conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when he was one of the speakers in the Forkopimda National Insight Dialogue with the Press in the Framework of Maintaining Bumi Arema to Remain Safe and Peaceful at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Malang City, Monday (23/10/2023). The event, which was hosted by Bakesbangpol, Malang City, was attended by dozens of media crews from various media platforms.
In addition to the Acting Mayor of Malang, this national insight dialogue also presented two other speakers, namely the Malang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Pol. Budi Hermanto and the Commander of the 0833/Malang City Military District, Lieutenant Colonel Kav. Heru Wibowo Sofa.
This national insight, Wahyu said, is also needed for media crews to continue to strengthen their love for their country and spread it in their families and society in general. "Journalists must also continue to echo this national insight in order to continue to strengthen the unity of the nation," he added.
Wahyu further reminded that in the near future the 2024 Simultaneous Democracy Party will be held, so in this case the function and existence of the media are also very large.
