Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM became the inspector of the 2023 Santri Day commemoration ceremony in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Monday (23/10/2023). In the commemoration of the 2023 Santri Day which carries the theme 'Santri Jihad, Jayakan Negeri', the Acting Mayor of Malang said that the role of santri in building the country is very important.
"They carry out their duties and roles in maintaining the Republic of Indonesia selflessly, full of consistency and high patriotism. They uphold Islamic and national values in one breath according to the fatwa of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, 'hubbul wathon minal iman' that loving the nation and country is part of faith," explained Wahyu in his speech.
At this moment, Wahyu invited all parties to emulate and continue to support and ignite the spirit to maintain the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila. The Malang City Government is also said to be committed to continuing to support and pay attention to Islamic boarding school education and the development of the potential of students.
"We invite the entire community to give appreciation and real support to the struggle of Indonesian santri. Let us together create an inclusive environment and provide space for santri to develop optimally, so that they can make the best contribution to the progress of the nation and state," he added.
Quoting from KH Mustofa Bisri, the Acting Mayor of Malang stated that santri are not only from those who live in Islamic boarding schools, but anyone who has morals like santri is a true santri. Santri are the vanguard in educating the nation's life and maintaining harmony between religious communities in Indonesia.
"Let us take wisdom in celebrating National Santri Day 2023 by caring for, maintaining and realizing the ideals of the proclamation of Indonesian independence. Let us maintain brotherhood and national unity, especially in undergoing the political year that is currently underway in the country," said Wahyu.
Once again, Wahyu advised the spirit of the santri to continue to burn and become a driving force to continue to do good and make real contributions to this country. At the end of his speech, Wahyu invited all participants of the ceremony to together shout out Santri Day 2023, Empowered to Maintain Human Dignity. On that occasion, an appreciation was also given to the Malang City Kafilah who won the MTQ XXX East Java Province in Pasuruan City on October 2-10, 2023. (yul/yon)
