Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – After previously being inactive due to the global Covid-19 pandemic that hit, the Malang City Social, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Service (Dinsos-P3AP2KB) has reopened the Kartini School. The opening of the activity which was carried out in the Arjuno Room of Dinsos-P3AP2KB, Monday (23/10/2023), the Head of the Women's Empowerment Division of Dinsos-P3AP2KB Malang City Dra. Ani Rahmawiyati, M.Si said that the reopening of the Kartini School was a form of government concern for the empowerment of women in Malang City.

"(The program) is a proposal from the Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) which asked us to facilitate proposals from the community to accommodate the needs of women of all ages. So we divide this program into two classes, namely class A for young women aged 17-24 years, while class B is intended for housewives (IRT)," he explained.
Ani said that later in the Kartini School program, women will be equipped with various knowledge given in several classes, such as lessons on marriage psychology, marriage communication, legality and family documents, to the development of information technology and social media. The hope is that through these classes, women who attend the Kartini School will be able to improve their competence and become independent people.
"The goal is that all these classes can be independent, both teenagers and housewives can stand on their own. In addition, the goal is to empower women and increase creativity, innovation, and initiative from all women," she said again.
One of the speakers who filled the class at Kartini School, Dr. Amalia Azis Daeng Matadjo, S.Psi, M.Psi., expressed her appreciation for the Malang City Government's move to present Kartini School. According to her, one of the interesting things is that not only married women participate in this program, but many unmarried women are also involved.
"That is very important because women's psychology is very dynamic, changing from the stages of their development, so it is necessary to always be given innovation, knowledge, skills to face various challenges from every phase of their lives," explained Amalia. (iu/yon)
