Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) has taken a firm stance against various indications of violations, whether intentional or unintentional. Such as the billboard on Jalan Kawi or precisely opposite the Malang Mayor's Official Residence. The digital billboard type of advertisement was indicated as not having a permit and received attention from the Malang City DPRD.
Regarding this, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM, Thursday (26/10/2023) said that his party had instructed officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to seal and not continue installing supporting facilities on the billboard. "Maybe the owner of the billboard installed it at night, so it was not detected properly," he explained.
"Not only sealing, I have also ordered to find the owner of the billboard and give a stern warning. Even if the permit has not been issued, please resolve it immediately so as not to cause polemics in the community. Of course we will be fair and firm in this matter," added Wahyu.
When asked why the billboard had been up for so long, he said that this is where the active role of various parties is needed, including the community. According to him, if only relying on officers whose number is relatively limited, then any supervision will be less than optimal.
"We are very grateful because so far our community cares and is actively involved in various things. In the future, we hope that the synergy between residents and the government can be sustainable and even better," Wahyu continued.
The man who previously served as the Regional Secretary of Malang Regency emphasized that this incident is a warning to others. If you want to put up a billboard or other advertising boards, then the permit must be completed first.
"If the permit is not yet complete, do not install it. Later, if it is regulated by officers, they will say that the officers are at fault. So please cooperate so that it is comfortable for both of us," Wahyu concluded. (say/yon)
