Wahyu Hidayat, MM when receiving a visit from the Management of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Malang City invited them to move forward together to strengthen synergy and maintain conduciveness in Malang City and the conduciveness of the nation.
This is considering that 2024 is a political year and is a shared concern. "We must deliver the Simultaneous Elections to become a peaceful, cool, healthy and prosperous Democratic Party," said Wahyu Hidayat in a lively gathering at the Malang Mayor's Meeting Room, Friday (27/10/2023).
Regarding the plan of the Malang City MUI to hold a discussion of ulama and umara on November 15, 2023, Wahid, as the Acting Mayor of Malang is sometimes called, welcomed it positively and strongly supported it because according to him, the synergy between ulama and umara is very important for the common good.
To the ranks of the MUI Leadership Council of Malang City, the Acting Mayor of Malang also hopes for the participation and support in relation to economic growth in Malang City, including the creative economy sector which is expected to become a pillar of the economy in the future.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the MUI of Malang City, KH Isroqunnajah, expressed his aspirations regarding the fact that there are still many public facilities, such as hospitals, shopping centers, hotels, and others that do not have proper and representative places of worship.
"MUI has a program to verify the standardization of places of worship, and we ask for support from the Malang City Government. Later, those that have been verified will be labeled as verified," said Gus Is, as KH. Isroqunnajah is often called.
Based on a survey conducted by the MUI of Malang City some time ago to several public facilities, it was conveyed that in general there were indeed prayer rooms available, but not all of them were in good and proper condition. Therefore, according to him, standardization of places of worship needs to be carried out.
