Supporting Local MSMEs, Acting Mayor of Malang Initiates 'Kemis Mbois'
Malang City – The commitment to strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continues to be realized by the Malang City Government (Pemkot). This time, a new idea from the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM to increase love for MSME products in Malang City through Kamis Mbois.
"We ourselves must be able to use and strengthen Malang City's MSMEs. For that, on Thursday Mbois tomorrow, I ask all ASN in Malang City to use all Malang City MSME products, be it batik or whatever, whatever. Don't use foreign products or Malang City MSME products," he said after attending an event at Savana Hotel & Convention, Wednesday (1/11/2023).
With this policy, Wahyu hopes to increase and spur the spirit of MSMEs in Malang City to be able to attract the local market. "So we can feel and provide space and opportunities for MSMEs in Malang City so that we (ASN and residents of Malang City) can use it ourselves. Usually we try to continue selling outside Malang City online and others, but we ourselves have not been able to feel and utilize our MSME products," he explained.
Wahyu said that not only to increase the local market for MSMEs, with this policy his party intends to eliminate the barriers between ASN as public service providers and residents. "If we wear uniforms, it seems like there is a barrier between those who serve and those who are served. With this we show that we blend in. The public also does not hesitate to consult or ask for services from us," he concluded.
Wahyu said that there will be a circular regarding the policy that applies every Thursday. There are no provisions for the use of special types of clothing in this case, ASN are allowed to freely wear clothes as long as they are products of Malang City MSMEs. "All ASN are given the freedom to wear clothes, it can be batik, it can be white, whatever. For example, if you want to wear jeans, it must also be a product of Malang City MSMEs," he concluded.
