2024 PAD Target Adjustment, This is the Explanation of the Acting Mayor of Malang

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In the Plenary Meeting of the Malang City DPRD held on Friday (3/11/2023) in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD, the target for Malang City's Original Regional Income (PAD) in 2024 was adjusted. From the initial target of IDR 1,2 trillion to IDR 800 billion or down around IDR 400 billion.

The Plenary Meeting of the Malang City DPRD was held on Friday (3/11/2023) in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD

This change refers to Law No. 33 of 2004 concerning Financial Balance Between the Central Government and Regional Governments. From this regulation, several points were revised by the Ministry of Finance and until now Malang City has not had a regional regulation (perda) on taxation as a derivative of the policy.

The statement was delivered by Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM after attending a plenary meeting. From that condition, he said that a number of potential tax revenues could not be optimized, such as taxes on boarding houses or rental houses which are predicted to be eliminated.

In addition, the increase in the Land and Building Acquisition Tax (BPHTB) tax rate cannot be done. In response to this, the Malang City Government will optimize the potential of other taxes, such as hotel, restaurant, advertising and parking taxes.

"Indeed, in 2024, on average, all of that will be adjusted along with the implementation of the law. But I am sure that in 2025 we will return to normal after there are adjustments related to the law. And indeed in 2024, apart from income, there are also transfers or mandates from the center that will start to be reduced," explained Wahyu.

In order not to disrupt the development program, Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu admitted that he would not only make breakthroughs, but also make budget savings in several regional apparatuses so that later priority programs can run well, such as for education, health and improvement of public infrastructure.

Related to this, Deputy Chairman of the Malang City DPRD, Asmualik asked the executive ranks through regional apparatuses such as Bapenda and Disnaker-PMPTSP to innovate and make breakthroughs to explore other potential income so that it will not interfere with the development program. (say/yon)
