Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Brawijaya University (UB) Malang hosted the biennial event of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), namely the XVII National Student Qur'an Recitation Competition (MTQMN) 2023. As the opening event, the Taaruf Night and Inauguration of the XVII MTQN 2023 Board of Judges were held at the Mini Block Office, Malang City Hall, Friday (3/11/2023).
Expert Staff for Development, People's Welfare and Human Resources of the Malang City Regional Secretariat Alie Mulyanto said that his party welcomed the MTQMN XVII 2023 which became a forum to advance student talents in the field of Quran Recitation. "Malang City is an extraordinary city and is a miniature of Indonesia. It is not an exaggeration, because Malang City has approximately 60 universities with students from various regions in Indonesia," said Alie.
To all the invited guests present, Alie explained that Malang City has two town squares, namely Alun-Alun Merdeka and Alun-Alun Tugu which face Malang City Hall. After the revitalization, Alun-Alun Tugu or often called Alun-Alun Bundar has a design without a fence as if it is one with Malang City Hall. "This means that Malang City is very open. The government is very confident that success can only be achieved with the support of the community," explained Alie.
According to him, the holding of MTQMN XVII 2023 at UB on November 3-10, 2023 will also help revive the economy in Malang City considering that this is a national-scale event. "Hopefully MTQMN XVII 2023 will run smoothly and successfully," said Alie.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship of Brawijaya University, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajaki, SH, MH, admitted that he was very grateful to the Malang City Government for supporting UB which was appointed as the host of the implementation of MTQMN XVII 2023.
"We are very happy to be present at the Mini Block Office Building in Malang City. The welcome was extraordinary. Thank you Malang City Government and all levels of Forkopimda," explained Setiawan. (cah/yon)
