'Ngelab Campus', Marketplace Created by Arek Malang to Facilitate Research Needs

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The term marketplace may be familiar to our ears. Through the marketplace, consumers find it easier to find the products or services they need without having to meet the seller physically. Likewise, sellers will be helped in marketing their products and services.

'Ngelab Kampus' marketplace which provides online research facilities

Born from the experience of the need to find various research facilities that are very difficult, Kirana Aisyah Larasati was inspired to create a marketplace 'Ngelab Kampus' which provides online research facilities. This marketplace can help researchers get various research services in the form of services, analysis, purchasing materials and tools, renting analysis tools, research assistance, to booking laboratories from institutions and private companies.

"Inspired by my experience in research since high school to college, I felt that finding research facilities that fit the methods of each researcher in Indonesia was very difficult to do, because access to information was exclusive and not widely available online. With today's sophisticated technology and the prevalence of online buying and selling, I was inspired to make finding research facilities practical without a long administrative system with price transparency and many choices as easy as buying in an online marketplace," said Kirana who was selected as the 2023 Malang City Youth Pioneer in the Field of Education.

Kirana has started its program since December 2018. Students or researchers who need various facilities for research can visit https://ngelabkampus.com/. The public can also access the Ngelab Campus service directly at the Ngelab Kampus Point Center (Chainlab) located at Jl. Gajayana No. 12, Malang City.

Not alone, Kirana also collaborates with alumni of the Science Olympiad and research to build this 'Ngelab Kampus'. With the presence of 'Ngelab Kampus', Kirana hopes that it will be able to help students and researchers to be able to carry out their research more easily because of the availability of various needs that support their activities. Thus, research activities in Malang City will be more advanced.

"The community, especially industry and MSMEs, need not be afraid to compete in quality with foreign products because access to product testing and research and development facilities is becoming more practical, fast and affordable. Students can experience research with professionals since school at an affordable price. In addition, it also provides job opportunities as private researchers for academics as is common in developed countries," explained the Biology Department graduate.

Kirana's success in building 'Ngelab Kampus' certainly began with strong determination. Not coming from the business world, Kirana had to learn from the beginning, especially since her daily environment did not have anyone who was involved in the business world. "I learned to start a business from scratch, because my family background, friends and relations were mostly academics. For business experience and relations, I had to find them myself from outside my environment. From there I realized that business is not just a profession but a long learning journey to become a better person," she said.

As time goes by, this specific marketplace in the field of education, especially research, has become a business entity on December 16, 2021, flying the name PT Misi Sayap Garuda. This success can certainly be a role model for other young people to be creative and innovative in pursuing their fields and of course can have an impact on the wider community. (ari/yon)
