Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to optimize the collection of zakat among state civil servants, Socialization and Education about Zakat, Infaq and Sodaqoh in the Malang City Government environment which was carried out together with the Malang City National Zakat Collection Agency (Baznas) was held in the Malang City Hall Meeting Room, Monday (6/10/2023).
Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT who opened this activity said that this socialization was carried out in order to support Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2014 concerning Optimization of Zakat Collection in Ministries/Institutions, Secretariat General of State Institutions, Secretariat General of State Commissions, Regional Governments, State-Owned Enterprises, and Regional-Owned Enterprises through Baznas.
In Malang City itself, Erik explained that the role of Baznas is quite essential. Many tasks of the local government are directly related to the community, including disadvantaged communities who need quick assistance. Often due to budget and mechanism limitations, this assistance process cannot be provided immediately. In fact, the community has hoped and expected the local government to be able to provide solutions in a relatively short time.
"From yesterday's audience, we made an initial step where we gathered all regional apparatus in one forum to provide insight and explain the provisions for collecting zakat," he explained.
Therefore, Erik hopes that in the future, the collection of zakat carried out by ASN in the Malang City Government environment can be more structured and more massive. According to him, this can be achieved if ASN as zakat givers have complete awareness and comprehensive understanding. Including Baznas can do reporting, transparency related to its distribution so that regional apparatus do not hesitate to distribute zakat, infak and sedekah.
"So we hope that these friends, in addition to working according to their duties, also have space to cultivate or gain rewards by cultivating the fields of rewards that are in front of their eyes. Of course with the procedures, stages, and procedures that will be explained by Baznas," added Erik.
In line with that, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM said that through this socialization, he hopes that ASN can have sufficient insight related to the procedures for paying zakat through Baznas. According to him, ASN need not worry, because the rules are clear, besides Baznas has been chosen by the government as one of the forums that is in accordance with the rules and also in accordance with the guidance for distributing zakat.
"In addition to accountability to God and the afterlife, the audit is also still carried out. So there is no need to worry about its management," said Wahyu.
In addition, Wahyu also hopes that ASN in the Malang City environment can be an example for the community to pay zakat through Baznas. "Of course, if it is not done by ASN, the community will also follow suit. The community will judge that if their officers do not trust Baznas, there will be doubt in the community. We as officers must be an example for the community in paying zakat," he concluded. (iu/yon)
