Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City is committed to continuing to implement the Smart City principle as an approach to regional development. This was stated by the Assistant for Economy and Development of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Ir. Diah Ayu Kusuma Dewi, MT in the Phase II Evaluation of the 2023 Smart City Program which was held online at the Ngalam Command Center (NCC) of Malang City Hall, Thursday (9/11/2023).

Of the six Smart City action plans, the aspects of smart governance, smart living, smart society, and smart environment have been 100 percent fulfilled, while for smart branding and smart economy have reached 89 percent and 86 percent. "So the average is 96,2 percent for the realization of the Smart City program in Malang City," said Dyah.
"We already have a Smart City masterplan whose substance is included in the Malang Mayor Regulation Number 43 of 2020 concerning the Malang Smart City Master Plan 2020-2025. This masterplan is also in line with the Malang City Government's digital transformation commitment where in 2023 we have various policies related to SPBE. The substance of the Smart City is also included in the 2024-2026 regional development plan," he explained during the presentation session.
Furthermore, Diah said that institutionally the Smart City program involves cross-sectors. "We continue to move and collaborate in implementing the action plan and quick wins that have been prepared. This is also based on the fact that to form a smart city we cannot stand alone, we must involve all parties," he continued.
Regarding the budget, the Malang City Government has allocated a specific budget of IDR 1,5 billion to the Communication and Information Service for the development and management of the Smart City ecosystem. Also more than IDR 570 billion for the realization of actions and quick wins spread across related regional apparatuses. In addition, the Malang City Government is also supported by CSR for city development worth IDR 883 million in 2022.
After the presentation session, the Assistant for Economy and Development accompanied by the Head of Application and Informatics (Aptika) of Diskomimfo Pandu Zanuar Sulistyo and related regional apparatus elements also received various inputs and questions from the evaluation team appointed by the Ministry of Communication and Information to improve the quality of the Malang Smart City plan and implementation.
