Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The struggle and spirit of the heroes who were willing to sacrifice for the nation and country must continue to be encouraged and become an inspiration for the young generation of Malang City. That was one of the things conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM after making a pilgrimage and scattering flowers with the Forkopimda ranks at the Suropati Heroes' Cemetery (TMP) in Malang City, Friday (10/11/2023).
Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat said that in the era of technological development, information and communication like today, it has positive and negative impacts. Therefore, according to him, it is very important to maintain and invite the younger generation to always love the country. "In this Heroes' Day Commemoration, we want to invite all parties, especially the younger generation to make Indonesia even better," said Wahyu.
He said that the current struggle is no less difficult than the struggle during the colonial era. Although what is currently being faced is not a war against an enemy that is physically facing, but currently the enemy is invisible, namely technology which if not addressed wisely will have a negative impact on morals.
"Increasing the creative economy and the people's economy is part of the modern struggle. We already have MCC, which can be the epicenter of the creative economy," he explained.
With the existence of MCC accommodating 17 creative economy sub-sectors, he said that this is the local heroes of creative economy and makes MCC the center of AI city, a smart city. Therefore, he advised that it is very important to emulate the spirit of previous heroes as the founders of the nation. "Hard work, never giving up to solve any difficulties and challenges, that is the spirit of heroism that must continue to be fostered and emulated," concluded Wahyu. (cah/yon)
