Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – As an effort to introduce tourism through sports tourism, the Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Service (Disporapar) held the Ngalam Heritage Run 2023 event at the Gajayana Stadium, Sunday (12/11/2023). Participants of the Ngalam Heritage Run 2023 who covered a distance of 10 kilometers were sent off by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM together with the Commander of the 0833 Malang City Military District, Lieutenant Colonel Kav. Heru Wibowo Sofa.
Acting Mayor of Malang Dr Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM said that in addition to being a means to campaign for healthy living through sports, one of the goals of this event is to introduce tourism in Malang City.
"First, the enthusiasm was extraordinary. Actually, we limited it to only 200 participants, but finally in three days we opened registration to 900 participants. So the enthusiasm was extraordinary," Wahyu exclaimed.
Ngalam Heritage Run is a routine event held by the Malang City Disporapar covering a distance of 10 kilometers with a route according to the concept carried, so it crosses heritage areas in Malang City.
"Then the second is because this is a 10k distance and a fun run, then it is titled heritage, so with this run it can introduce to the public, especially running enthusiasts who are currently extraordinary and on average from young men and women, several heritage sports that they can get to know by running," he explained.
Wahyu further said that participants who attended this event were not only from Malang City, but were also attended by approximately 250 participants from outside the city and even Foreign Citizens (WNA).
"So because this is a fun run, participants can enjoy the beauty of the heritage areas they pass through. They can enjoy it by running and also by exercising. Hopefully later those from outside the city can gethuk spread to them about tourism in Malang City," he concluded. (yul/yon)
