Acting Mayor of Malang: Tulusrejo Thematic UMKM Market Has Potential

Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – In order to develop the potential of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Tulusrejo Village held the Bantaran Indah Thematic MSME Market in RW XIII, Tulusrejo Village, Lowakwaru District, Malang City, Sunday (12/11/2023).

Tulusrejo Village Head Syarief Hidayat, SE, MM hopes that this activity can help the development of MSMEs in Tulusrejo and can help open new jobs, especially around the Tulusrejo area in the future. "Hopefully this can open up opportunities for developing MSME potential and provide benefits for the people of Malang City, especially in Tulusrejo Village and also develop the potential of MSMEs around Tulusrejo," he said.

Syarief said there were 56 booths joining the event this time filled with various products ranging from food, drinks, fashion, and vegetable products. "By seeing the enthusiasm of the residents, and the estimated potential transactions that could reach IDR 80 million, we hope to open up opportunities for MSME potential and continue to be held. Hopefully the activity can take place continuously and not stop at this moment," he hoped.

Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM, who was present and opened the event, expressed his appreciation for the holding of the first Thematic UMKM Market in Tulusrejo. Wahyu said that there was a lot of potential from this activity, so he hoped that this activity could be carried out routinely, not only once a month but also every week.

"Earlier I saw that the products were also good, and there were also many sponsors. This is a sign of great potential, especially since it was mentioned earlier that the transaction potential could reach 80 million. This means that this is extraordinary," he said.

According to Wahyu, not only is it an activity that entertains local residents, the Thematic UMKM Market activity which is also an UMKM empowerment activity carried out by residents has proven to be one of the pillars of the Malang City economy which was previously sluggish. Wahyu also hopes that activities like this can continue to be carried out in other areas in Malang City.

"This is related to the economic development of Malang City. One of them is with the empowerment of MSMEs, we are starting to step and step on economic growth, and it is proven that our economy after the pandemic continues to soar," he concluded. (iu/yon)
