Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) through the Malang City Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Service (Diskopindag) held a Rolling Training for the Tobacco Products Industry at the PT Sinar Mahkota Mas Factory, Bandulan, Sukun District, Monday (13/11/2023). In the training attended by 700 participants, the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM said that this activity was a form of coaching and increasing the capacity of Human Resources (HR) so that skilled workers who were ready to work were created.
Furthermore, the Acting Mayor of Malang hopes that through the training allocated from the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT), this will be one of the efforts to reduce unemployment by training and educating new workers. Participants will be taught how to roll tobacco properly, because rolling tobacco is not just a job, but an art that requires skill and dedication.
"This training can improve the human resources that they are currently in need of. They do not have any skills, so we finally provide them with this rolling training so that later their skills can be utilized by the cigarette industry. In addition, we can also reduce unemployment by providing this training. So there is a mutual symbiosis," he explained.
In line with that, this training is also an effort to realize the ability of industry players to produce quality products. For that, Wahyu invited the participants to make the most of this training. According to him, over time, the demands for quality, efficiency, and safety in tobacco production are increasing. Therefore, it is important to continue to update knowledge and skills.
Also present at the opening of this activity were the Forkopimda ranks, Head of the East Java II DJBC Regional Office, Head of Regional Apparatus in the Malang City Government and other related stakeholders. (yul/yon)
