Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Acting Mayor of Malang visited the Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School located on Jl. Kopral Usman, Klojen District, Malang City, Tuesday (14/11/2023).
In his speech, Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat expressed his gratitude for being able to visit the Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School. "On September 24, 2023, I officially received a mandate from the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the Minister of Home Affairs to become the Acting Mayor of Malang. Therefore, we ask for support from the Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School so that we can carry out the mandate that has been given well and hopefully it is trustworthy," he explained.
According to him, Islamic boarding schools have played an extraordinary role in the progress of Malang City. "The large number of students from all over Indonesia and even from abroad who are studying shows that this Islamic boarding school is extraordinary. The Malang City Government will continue to fully support it," said Wahyu.
Wahyu hopes that in the future the achievements and good education patterns that have existed so far can continue to be developed. The Acting Mayor of Malang also advised and invited to continue to maintain conduciveness, considering that now is the moment to welcome the political year of 2024, the dynamics of which are currently very much felt. "We hope that Islamic boarding schools will play an active role in making the upcoming election a success," said Wahyu.
Meanwhile, the Head of Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School, KH Husaini Al-Hafid said he was very happy with the presence of the Acting Mayor of Malang. "Our Islamic boarding school has 500 students who are divided into four locations. We are very grateful that since it was founded in 2002, our Islamic boarding school has continued to grow," said Husaini.
Husaini added that in addition to studying at the pondok, many Nurul Furqon students also study at school or as students. He revealed that the Nurul Furqon Islamic Boarding School students come from Sabang to Merauke, and some are from Thailand. "We are very grateful that the Acting Mayor of Malang can visit us, so that we can get to know each other and know the real conditions," explained Husaini. (cah/yon)
