Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) continues to strengthen synergy with the media. One of them is in order to encourage the growth and development of the creative economy in Malang City. As a form of this synergy, the Malang City Government together with the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Malang Raya held a Creative Economy Discussion in the Framework of the Opening of the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) Class 54-55 at the Aria Gajayana Hotel, Friday (17/11/2023).

Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, Erik Setyo Santoso, ST, MT in his direction said that there are many ways that can be done as a form of synergy between the Malang City Government and media colleagues, one of which is through this activity.
"The Malang City Government and the Acting Mayor of Malang also fully support these activities, several things can be synergized in their implementation. As has been done together at this time, to provide support, a form of concern from the government on how we can synergize with media colleagues. There are many ways that can be done, one of which is through the Journalist Competency Test," explained Regional Secretary Erik when met after opening the activity.
Regional Secretary Erik said that his party appreciates and provides full support. It is hoped that through this activity the professionalism and competence of media colleagues and journalists will increase, so that the news presented will be of higher quality and can provide education and literacy to the community to be able to obtain the information they need.
“Earlier I have conveyed the directions from the Acting Mayor of Malang. So in principle he fully supports activities like this, and hopes that media colleagues in processes like this will increasingly have expertise, how news really pays attention to two points of view (both sides) or from sides that are not one point of view. Considering many things that ultimately this news can also provide education, literacy to the community. Therefore, he advised that activities like this can continue to be carried out sustainably," he explained.
He further said that the potential of Malang City is raised from the creative economy side. Where one of the roles of the Malang City Government in establishing the creative economy as the future of the economy of Malang City and Indonesia is by providing infrastructure such as creative zones or creative spaces as spaces for expression, promotion and interaction for creative people.
"As a Creative City, there is one thing in Malang City that has been built for a long time and is sustainable, one of which is providing an ecosystem and habitat for these creative people to find their space. So we provide an ecosystem called the Malang Creative Center (MCC) to develop these creative people into entrepreneurs who can absorb labor, roll out economic growth and many other things," explained Regional Secretary Erik.
In this UKW series, the Malang City Government and the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Malang Raya also held a Journalistic Work Competition with the theme 'Malang Creative Center, the Future of the Creative Economy in Malang City'. (yul/yon)
