Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) of Malang City held the Makotamu Festival as part of a series of commemorations of the 111th Milad in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Sunday (19/11/2023). Various events enlivened the activity, such as the UMKM market, blood donation, cultural parade and tree planting.
In relation to this, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM in his speech before opening the event said that the commemoration of the 111th Milad Muhammadiyah is not just a routine ceremony, but a moment that raises the spirit to continue to inspire, empower and bring benefits to the community.
"As we all know, since its inception, Muhammadiyah has been a milestone of the movement committed to advancing education, social welfare and humanity with an Islamic spirit. This is in line with the development program of the Malang City Government," he explained.
Wahyu added that his party was grateful for the contribution that Muhammadiyah had given in advancing education, health, social and various other fields in Malang City. "Muhammadiyah's presence is not only as a partner who actively participates in building a better city," he added.
For that reason, Wahyu emphasized that the synergy between Muhammadiyah and the Malang City Government must always be strengthened, especially in the near future the grand event of the Simultaneous Election will soon be held. "There are many things that must be prioritized and given attention, especially in relation to maintaining regional conduciveness," he explained.
It cannot be denied, he said, reflecting on the implementation of previous elections, it is certain that the implementation of the democratic party will have the potential to cause tension triggered by friction or competition due to differences in choices, views or arguments.
"Although basically such halal is commonplace, it should not reduce the spirit of unity and togetherness. Therefore, we ask various parties, including Muhammadiyah to help create conduciveness," he concluded. (say/yon)
