Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The implementation of the 54th and 55th batch of Journalist Competency Tests (UKW) driven by the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Malang Raya and fully supported by the Malang City Government (Pemkot) was officially closed by the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM, Sunday (19/11/2023).
The Acting Mayor of Malang appreciated the implementation of the UKW which was held from 17-19 November 2023 at the Mini Block Office (MBO) of Malang City Hall. "Thank God, 100 percent of participants passed the competency test. Hopefully this will be a provision and capital to become a competent journalist," Wahyu hoped.
Acting Mayor of Malang said that the implementation of UKW this time is also an event to increase collaboration. "I hope that there will always be good coordination, consolidation and synergy between the Malang City Government and the media. We have a hexahelix concept, and this is one form of effort to work together to build Malang City better," he said.
On this occasion, Wahyu invited and hoped that the media crew would work together to create a cool and safe democratic party. This is considered important because the media is a source of information for the public, and therefore the media must provide correct information and education to realize a safe and conducive election.
At the closing of UKW PWI Malang, Wahyu presented awards to the best participants at each level of journalists, namely main, middle, and young. In addition, the Acting Mayor of Malang also presented prizes to the winners of the journalistic work competition themed 'Malang Creative Center (MCC) The Future of Creative Economy in Malang City'.
