Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – In presenting journalistic products or political news, such as the democratic party, the mass media or press should be able to present news that is fair, balanced, healthy and informative.
That way, the news will not harm the media company itself, either moral sanctions from the community or government broadcasting institutions. That is what was emphasized by the Coordinator of the Institutional Field of the East Java Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID), Royin Fauziana in Malang City, Friday (24/11/2023).
In a discussion with media crews at the Bawaslu Office, Royin also asked the press not to side with political parties, regional head pairs, or certain presidential and vice presidential candidates in their reporting.
If this happens, Royin emphasized that the media concerned will receive sanctions from the KPI, ranging from warnings, administrative sanctions to revocation of broadcasting permits.
In addition, the woman in hijab said that media that is not neutral will be abandoned by the public and even advertisers. "Of course this will be very detrimental to media companies," said Royin.
"KPID together with the Central KPI will continue to strive to be able to present healthy and informative content or broadcasts for the public. So what we do is always appeal to broadcasting institutions to maintain their attitude so that they can conduct fair and healthy broadcasts," he explained.
He said that the East Java KPID will always monitor and currently there are at least 394 media being monitored. Although so far no violations have been found, Royin invited all elements of society to participate in monitoring and if there are indications of violations, they should immediately report to the East Java KPID channels.
