Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In order to strengthen the literacy of the younger generation, the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) held a Smart, Wise, and Quiz Competition on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for junior high schools throughout Malang City on the 7th Floor of the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Malang City, Thursday (30/11/2023).
Head of Malang City Communication and Information Service, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos said that there are three things mandated to the Malang City Government related to ICT or digital. The first is to strengthen digital infrastructure, one of which is that the Communication and Information Service provides free WiFi services in 551 RW in the Malang City area and the distribution of CCTV points.
"The second is strengthening related to digital human resources, and the third is related to the digital ecosystem. In relation to digital human resources, the steps taken by Diskominfo include holding events like this. Because we observe that ICT seems to have become a daily menu, even for children. Where they have used their respective gadgets," explained the man who is familiarly called Wiwid.
He further said that Diskominfo invited students who are the young generation of the nation's successors to better understand the 5.0 era. According to him, the 4.0 era emphasized infrastructure, while the 5.0 era must be balanced with moral values. So there needs to be a balance for the ability of the younger generation to utilize technology with aspects of moral values so that what is carried on this occasion is wise words, not just clever.
"This activity is full of surprises. Through a quiz like this, it's as if we are invited to reminisce. What lessons can be learned? One of them is in the current situation, where advances in information and communication technology have become part of our daily lives," he explained enthusiastically.
The first lesson from this activity is about the message that humans are social creatures, individuals who do not stand alone. For that it is important to build social interaction. In addition, the lesson from the quiz activity which is teamwork, reminds us that humans can stand, advance and achieve, continue to move forward because there are friends, companions, communities and families.
"There are 116 schools participating, after going through the selection process 30 schools were selected, then the top five were selected. Schools must produce a smart generation, but also how to produce a wise and prudent generation. Especially now we are also welcoming Indonesia Emas 2045, which is marked by a capable generation, not only intellectually intelligent but also emotionally," he concluded. (yul/yon)
