One of the possible impacts is the potential for vulnerability during the campaign stage such as allegations of fraud, dirty practices, intimidation, provocation are behaviors that we need to anticipate together. Because the effects of these things can disrupt the stability and conduciveness of Malang City which has been known for its image as a city full of nuances of tolerance.
This was conveyed by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when opening the Early Warning & Potential Vulnerability Discussion Entering the 2024 Election Campaign Stage in the Meeting Room of the Malang City Hall, Thursday (30/11/2023). Therefore, he said, this discussion activity is a form of effort to be able to carry out mitigations so as to minimize the negative impacts of the campaign implementation.
"Not only that, in order to create a peaceful election, I have instructed ASN to be neutral and not to be involved in practical political practices. This is what I emphasize to all ASN, because for us this is our way to participate in making the 2024 election a success. Not only that, this is also in realizing a safe and peaceful 2024 Election in Malang City," added Wahyu.
He added that his party had asked Bakesbangpol to strengthen the role of the Community Early Warning Forum at the sub-district level so that they can work hand in hand to make various efforts to detect early potential threats, challenges, obstacles and disturbances that may occur in the community.
Wahyu further conveyed, provide reports, information and recommendations and strengthen synergistic cooperation to face strategic issues ahead of the 2024 Election. Such as monitoring the campaign schedule of each political party so that they do not clash with each other. "If there are minor symptoms, they should be immediately mitigated or detected early," he said.
He explained that from all of that, the incident could be neutralized quickly and precisely so that it would not develop and have long consequences. As the organizer of the 2024 Election, every related element should not become a practical political tool for the interests of power. "Continue to carry out your respective responsibilities and duties in accordance with applicable regulations. Strengthen your neutrality, use your voting rights according to your conscience," he requested.
