Jakarta, (Malangkota.go.id) – The commitment and implementation of strengthening sectoral statistical data led Malang City to win the Best I National Anindhita Wistara Data Award 2023 from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

The proud award was received directly by the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM in a series of Dissemination of the Results of the 2023 Agricultural Census in Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023).
Wahyu expressed his appreciation for the special achievements made by Malang City and said that all parties played a role behind the achievement.
"Thank you for the extraordinary achievement, the best I national category of district/city from BPS. Of course it is a pride for us in organizing sectoral statistics. And of course this will be our basis in taking better steps regarding data and solid coordination with BPS Malang City," said Wahyu.
The 2023 Anindhita Wistara Data Award is a form of appreciation for the improvements that have been made in the five domains of the Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS).
Starting from the implementation of the principle of one Indonesian data, data quality, statistical business processes, institutions to national statistics. The index value of 3,35 achieved by the Malang City Government is also the highest nationally at the Regency/City level.
Among them, strengthening sectoral statistical data is carried out through the stipulation of Mayoral Regulation (Perwal) Number 7 of 2022 concerning Satu Data.
This policy underpins the presence of the One Data Malang portal which has so far presented 4664 data in 28 categories that can be openly accessed by the public via the page satudata.malangkota.go.id/.
The compilation of a digital social welfare database has also been carried out as a supporting tool for thematic bureaucratic reform policies for poverty alleviation.
Specifically, Wahyu also emphasized the importance of continuing to present good data in decision-making and policy-making in the current digital era.
"Without data, we cannot do anything. Be it analysis or decisions. Hopefully, with this achievement, Malang City Government in the future can take policies that are increasingly based on (quality) data," added Wahyu.
Furthermore, the Head of the Malang City Communication and Informatics Service, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos hopes that this award will be a stimulus for sectoral data performance in public services.
"Data is now increasingly valuable. Hopefully this can be a stimulus. Thank you for the support of all parties and we are ready according to the leadership's direction to continue to improve for the smooth digital transformation. Which is a wise national and regional direction," explained the man who is familiarly called Pak Wid.
Likewise, the Head of BPS Malang City, Umar Sjaifudin, ensured that collaborative work with the Malang City Government will continue to be maintained and improved.
"The Malang City Government has been incredibly supportive and attentive to statistics. We are certainly very helped and are ready to continue this synergy," said Umar.
In addition to the population census and agricultural census, collaboration in the 'Beautiful' Village/Sub-district Love Statistics program was also successfully initiated in Sukoharjo Sub-district and is ready to be replicated in 56 other sub-districts.
