Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, the repair of the Lembayung Bridge which connects Bumiayu and Mergosono Villages has entered the stage of installing the steel frame or framing. This repair was targeted to be completed by the end of November 2023, but is estimated to be completed in mid-December 2023.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency (DPUPRPKP) of Malang City, Dandung Djulharjanto, Tuesday (05/12/2023). He said, from the results of monitoring at the location, workers were arranging the frame and would later be strengthened.
"The process must be done carefully and thoroughly, and installed as well as possible. We are optimistic that the bridge repair will be completed in the second week of December," added the bespectacled man.
Since the bridge is not yet finished, Dandung asked the local residents to be patient for the sake of providing proper road access and long-lasting bridge construction. "We also want it to be finished quickly, but without neglecting quality," Dandung emphasized.
When asked about the provision of service cars to pick up and drop off school students while the bridge is being repaired, he said that this is still ongoing with the support of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) and other related regional apparatuses.
As for the raft used to cross the river, Dandung could not confirm whether it was still used by the community, or no longer. "We will check again there," concluded Dandung. (say/yon)
