PSC 119 Malang City Gets Assistance

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Improving the capacity of existing human resources, the Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 Team led by Dr. Kenedy Sembiring, MARS provided assistance to PSC 119 Malang City, Tuesday (5/12/2023).

Kenedy Sembiring said that this activity was in order to improve the Integrated Emergency Response System (SPGDT) service, especially the PSC 119 service in the East Java Province. The Ministry of Health is currently monitoring the evaluation of PSC 119 coaching and the integration of emergency services with hospitals in East Java. "We hope that with this activity, PSC 119 in Malang City can be even better in providing services to the community," Kenedy hoped.

Kenedy said that his party's arrival in Malang City was based on a letter to carry out monitoring by directly observing the support from the Ministry of Health for PSC 119 in East Java, including in Malang City.

On this occasion, Kenedy discussed in depth how the performance of the Malang City PSC was based on the notes in the National PSC 119. From the notes, it is known what is good and what needs to be improved regarding the PSC 119 service in the future. "We hope that with this activity in the future, the Malang City PSC will be more responsive in providing the best service to the community," said Kenedy.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Coordinator of PSC 119 Malang City, dr. Wirandi Paramasatya Tjiptono said, the initial concept of PSC 119 was a pre-hospital medical emergency service, which means that PSC 119 provides initial medical emergency services immediately, before finally being directed to the related advanced health facilities. This service is a major part of the integrated emergency response system (SPGDT) initiated by the Ministry of Health.

"The purpose of establishing PSC is to facilitate patients or victims who have not received medical treatment outside the hospital. Not only referring patients, but we must also be able to perform simple medical treatment before referring patients to the hospital. At a minimum, we must be able to inform the patient's condition and history, so that the hospital is well informed and ready to receive the patients we refer," explained Dr. Wirandi.

Services provided by PSC 119 include educating patients or reporters through telephone guidance to handle emergencies. Furthermore, PSC 119 officers will also be deployed along with an ambulance to the patient's location. If necessary, the patient will be taken to the nearest health care facility with pre-hospital care measures carried out before and during the trip to the health care facility.

On this occasion, Wirandi also explained in detail what PSC 119 Malang City has done so far. Including the facilities owned, personnel who carry out activities so that they can provide the best service to the community. (cah/yon)
