Jakarta (Malangkota.go.id) – Progress in improving information security, governance and electronic-based government system (SPBE) services led Malang City to win the 2023 Top Digital Award, at the Raffles Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023).
Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM interpreted the appreciation from the national scene as motivation to oversee the digital transformation which is one of the national and regional priority policy levels.
"Digitalization in Malang City Government must have a better impact on residents. Not just digital but must be truly reliable. So we thank you for this assessment which of course we must continue to improve in the future," explained Wahyu
The theme of the activity which raised the issue of "IT Governance and Cyber Security in Innovation of Business and Services" is very much in line with the efforts of the Malang City Government to provide better, easier and safer digital services for the community.
"Indeed, the threat of cyber attacks is getting more serious at this time. Of course, we pay attention so that it does not disturb or harm the community. Moreover, the election is coming soon. So we also make this event a learning opportunity," added Wahyu.
A total of 3 (three) awards were won by Malang City after going through an assessment process by a panel of judges led by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Informatics and Communication Higher Education Association, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Achmad Benny Mutiara, QN SSi, S.Kom.
Namely Top Digital Implementation Level 5 Stars, Top Digital Leader for the leadership and policies of the Mayor of Malang and Top Chief Information Officer (CIO) for strengthening digital management and governance at the Malang City Communication and Information Service.
This cannot be separated from the policy commitment and a series of strategic steps that have been implemented, such as the stipulation of Malang Mayor Regulation Number 8 of 2023 concerning SPBE, the formation of the SPBE team and the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), digital talent certification, and the achievement of the ISO 27001:2022 Certificate.
Head of the Communication and Information Service, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos ensured that his party will continue to improve SPBE services, collaborate with parties in maintaining cyber security of services and encourage digital literacy in the community.
"We realize that the future challenges of information security and digital services are a unity that is increasingly expected by the public. So of course joint efforts are needed. Even digital literacy of the community is an important part," he said.
Meanwhile, the Expert Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information for Social, Economic and Cultural Affairs, R. Wijaya Kusumawardhana, ST, MMIB in his keynote highlighted the high portion and potential of the digital economy nationally as an opportunity that must be captured by all sectors including local governments.
"In 2030, the value of digital economic transactions is predicted to reach 218 billion USD so that nationally its contribution can reach 20,7% of GDP. Digitalization of the economy is also considered to be one way to escape the middle income trap towards a developed country," he said.
The Top Digital Award in 2023 was attended by 186 participating companies and institutions from all over Indonesia, making it one of the largest events in the scope of digital assessment and learning on the national stage. (Ndu)
