Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to commemorate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the D'mart Titik Tenger Community of Malang City held a series of events such as traditional dances, virtual mask painting competitions, carnival costume parades with the characters Ken Dedes, Nyai Blorong and so on in the Malang City DPRD Building area, Wednesday (6/12/2023).

The head of the committee, Maria Karmela Nur Indri Hariyani, said that this event was to provide a forum and space for children with special needs so that it is hoped that various parties will care and there is no discrimination in various matters. For example, providing equal opportunities in getting an education, getting a job, and their rights and obligations are fulfilled properly.
This event, he said, is also to strengthen the character and artistic soul of children. For example, through traditional dance performances and getting to know more about the Malangan mask which is one of the icons of Malang City.
"In this case, an active role is needed from educational institutions and parents to direct children's talents and interests so that later these disabled children will also have high competitiveness," he added.
This event received appreciation from the Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning (Dinsos P3AP2KB) of Malang City, Donny Sandito. He said that his party will continue to be committed to providing the widest possible space for the disabled. Such as providing public facilities, training and assistance. "Behind their limitations, the disabled must have advantages," he explained.
"We are very grateful to the Malang City DPRD who provided the venue for this event. Likewise, the event committee who consistently held the event. Thus, the various potentials of the disabled can be maximized," concluded Donny. (say/yon)
