The team from the BPK Representative Office of East Java, Bagus Ardi P., said that the BPK East Java had carried out a series of examinations for 51 days which were divided into two stages, namely 10-26 October 2023 or 16 calendar days for preliminary examination, and 6 November - 10 December 2023 or 35 calendar days for detailed examination. From the examination, the BPK team assessed that the Malang City Government had supported the implementation of the examination well and cooperatively.

"During the inspection, the Malang City Government, in this case Bapenda and DLH, have supported the implementation well and cooperatively, including by providing documents and providing relatively smooth information," said Bagus.

From the audit conducted, Bagus said that the BPK team found several findings that were used as recommendations to the Malang City Government to be more optimal, including the management of four types of regional taxes in 2023 and the management of advertising taxes by the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) in 2023 which were considered suboptimal, as well as the management of adequate Waste/Cleanliness service fees in 2023 at the Environmental Service.

Bagus added, later if there is progress on the results of the audit such as payments by taxpayers, submission of turnover reports, results of summons of uncooperative taxpayers and follow-up of audit results that can change the value of findings, either potential loss of income or shortfalls in tax revenue, the data will be immediately reported to the BPK team during the reporting period on December 10-18.

"According to the audit schedule agreement, the submission of the LHP concept (including opinions) to the head of the audited entity to obtain a response in the form of an action plan on December 18, 2023. Meanwhile, the submission of the LHP itself is scheduled for December 20, 2023," he added.

Responding to this, Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM appreciated the implementation of the exit meeting by the BPK team and thanked them for the recommendations that had been submitted. Later, Wahyu stated that the Malang City Government would evaluate the findings of the BPK team before finally submitting them again during the submission of the LHP which is scheduled for December 20.

"There are many materials that I will make for joint evaluation and how we will follow up in 2024. Hopefully, this morning's evaluation can be fulfilled by either Bapenda or DLH, we still have time until the submission of the LHP later," concluded Wahyu. (iu/yon)
