Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Stand Up Comedy Jeh (STMJ) event initiated by Tugu Media Group received appreciation from the Acting Mayor of Malang, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM. The number one person in the Malang City Government was specifically present at the final round of STMJ which was held at the Malang Creative Center (MCC) Malang City, Saturday (16/12/2023).
Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat expressed his deep appreciation for what Tugu Media Group has done. According to him, the activity to commemorate the 14th anniversary of Gus Dur is very good for developing the creative industry climate in Malang City.
"I fully support and appreciate stand up comedy that can develop the creativity of the arek-arek Malang. Moreover, this is also to preserve the thoughts of Gus Dur who is a humorous statesman," said Wahyu.
Especially in the era of social media, currently the existence of stand up comedy clearly has a high rating, this is an opportunity for young people to develop and hone themselves. Wahyu said that in Malang City there are actually many stand up comedy figures who are not only known locally, but also regionally and nationally.
Meanwhile, Tugu Media Group CEO Irham Thoriq revealed that he deliberately commemorated Gus Dur's 14th haul by holding a stand-up comedy because Gus Dur was a humorous statesman. "Through stand-up comedy, we also want to raise the potential of Malang City's young people, whose enthusiasm is extraordinary," Thoriq emphasized.
There were more than 50 participants who registered for stand up comedy which were then selected into the top 10 until finally entering the top five and the final round. Through an event like this, it is hoped that it can also be entertainment as well as education to strengthen inner and mental happiness.
Present on this occasion accompanying the Mayor of Malang were the Head of the Malang City Communication and Information Service Muhammad Nur Widianto, the Head of the Malang City Trade and Industry Service Eko Sri Yuliadi, and the Head of the Malang City Social Welfare Division Imam Mabrur.
