Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government (Pemkot) held the 75th National Defense Day and 95th Mother's Day Ceremony in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Friday (22/12/2023). In the ceremony attended by the Forkopimda ranks and attended by cross-sector participants, the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM acted as the ceremony inspector.
In his message, Acting Mayor of Malang Wahyu Hidayat said that defending the country is the main pillar that must be held firmly to make the Indonesian nation a strong and intelligent nation in facing uncertain situations. The spirit of defending the country is not the responsibility of certain parties such as the TNI or Polri, but requires increased awareness and active involvement of all elements of society.
"So far, defending the country has been considered the duty of the TNI and Polri, even though in fact we all have the same responsibility to defend the country," said Wahyu.
In addition, according to Wahyu, defending the country is also part of national insight, which is a rule in maintaining the unity of the Indonesian nation. As is known, the Indonesian nation often receives disturbances and undermining from various parties who want to threaten the integrity of the nation.
"Well, defending the country provides a direction to the community that we have the same responsibility. This integration must not be broken, we must unite for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia," he stressed.
On this occasion, together with the Acting Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP and the Forkopimda ranks, the Acting Mayor of Malang symbolically presented several awards, including the Jami Mosque which received an award from the Mosque Council as the cleanest Grand Mosque, assistance through Baznas, ranging from health assistance, social humanitarian assistance (disaster), house renovation programs, food assistance for the elderly who live alone, uniform assistance for school students, laptop unit assistance for teachers at the Community Learning Institute, and cart assistance for traders.
Wahyu said that the provision of assistance is also a form of transparency carried out by Baznas and also the Malang City Government, as managers of donation funds from ASN Malang City. The hope is that ASN will then understand that the donations that have been made so far have been distributed clearly and in accordance with the targets that in the future can help improve the welfare of the people of Malang City.
"These are the results that have been collected. This assistance has been distributed clearly, right on target according to the shared desire to be able to improve the welfare of the community, especially the residents who need our help," added Wahyu.
One of the recipients of the cart assistance, Muhammad Fauzi, admitted that he was very grateful and happy to receive the assistance.
"God willing, we can add facilities to our stall. Hopefully it will run smoothly and can increase income. Thank you Baznas and Malang City Government for this assistance," said Fauzi. (iu/yon)
