Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM appreciated the efforts to develop students carried out by the Sabilillah Islamic Education Institution (LPI) of Malang City. He conveyed this when attending the Symphony of National Treasures (SKB) event held at the Graha Cakrawala Building, State University of Malang, Saturday (23/12/2023).
In the activity that featured performances by LPI Sabilillah students from kindergarten to high school levels, Wahyu saw this as a positive step taken by Sabilillah to accommodate the students' talents in terms of non-academic abilities.
"For that, I convey my positive appreciation to LPI Sabilillah Malang which has facilitated and provided the widest possible space for students to express themselves and channel their talents," explained Wahyu.
Wahyu added, as an effort to realize Indonesia Emas in 2045, according to him all parties need to be aware that in the current era of globalization, competitive human resources are not only seen from academic abilities. But there also needs to be innovation and creativity that can support competencies outside of academics.
He emphasized that it is important for all parties to jointly focus on developing the quality of education and encourage the birth of innovation and creativity in order to form human resources that can compete globally and provide positive contributions to development. That is why Wahyu invited LPI Sabilillah Malang to be able to synergize and collaborate in order to realize these ideals.
"In relation to this, I hope that LPI Sabilillah's steps must always be in line with the Malang City Government's education development programs," he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of LPI Sabilillah Malang City, Prof. Dr. H. Ibrahim Bafadal, M.Pd., said that the Spectacular Symphony Orchestra Performance of the National Treasures (SKB) SISMA is an annual activity, at the end of every odd semester as a form of appreciation of students' talents in extracurricular arts learning.
In 2023, this Orchestra Performance will feature 476 students from Kindergarten, Elementary School, Islamic Junior High School Sabilillah Malang, and Islamic Senior High School Sabilillah Malang Boarding School Pesantren System who are members of the Qiraah, Dance, Choir, Islamic Band, Angklung, Gamelan, Violin, vocals, SISMA Leadership extracurricular (Scouting and Paskibra Education).
"The appearance of our children is a form of continuous development of extracurricular learning for Kindergarten, Elementary School, Sabilillah Islamic Middle School Malang, and Sabilillah Islamic High School Malang Boarding School Pesantren System," explained Ibrahim.
Tsabita, a ninth grade student of SMPIS Sabilillah who performed as the opening singer for the 2023 SKB Orchestra Performance said that she was proud to have been part of the performance that was witnessed by more than 1.000 visitors. Tsabita hopes that in the future this performance will be more enjoyable for the people of Malang City.
"Hopefully, LPI Sabilillah will be more advanced and SKB can provide something even more magnificent. In addition, all SKB can participate in Malang City Government events," he said. (iu/yon)
